Copyleft

Almost all original content hosted on dembroski.net is released under an "Open Content" license. The license used depends on the content. Software is released under the GPL v2. Image, video, audio, and text based content is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. In some instances a license other than those described here will be used. Works might also be released under multiple licenses. Any of these cases will be clearly marked as such.

These licenses are a legal requirement to facilitate open collaboration with my work. While the legal mumbo-jumbo spells out in specific terms what is required when using my work, people with a low tolerance for legaleese can just look at the guidelines below.

You can do pretty much whatever you like with my work provided:
• You give me credit as the original authour of the work.
• You allow others to do the same by releasing any derivative works under the same license.
• If you use the "source files" of a project, you must also make them available to others under the same license.

That's pretty much it, except to say that none of the licenses affect your rights to use the work under conditions that constitute "fair use". If you have any questions about how to comply with these terms, take a look at the copyleft How-To.
